What if it’s already too late!
Okay, we hate to say this. But, if you already have hemorrhoids, you should be treating it in the best way possible.
1. For pain relief:- Soak daily for about 10 minutes in a warm bath. If the pain is unbearable, it’s always better to get over-the-counter (OTC) rectal suppositories, creams or ointments that relieve burning and itching. Other pain relievers like aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen can also help alleviate pain.
2. Get fibre supplements:- OTC fibre supplements work best if you suffer from constipation.
3. Home remedies:- Last but not the least, home remedies are always to help. Hemorrhoid cream or hydrocortisone can help ease your overall discomfort. Soaking the anus in warm sitz baths for 10-15 minutes daily also helps. You can also ensure that you don’t use a rough toilet paper or soap. These things would worsen the situation. You can also use a cold compress to reduce the pain and swelling.
4. Possible medical procedures:- If you don’t get desired results from all of the above, it’s wise to see a doctor. Your doctor might suggest you a rubber band ligation that causes your haemorrhoids to lose it’s circulation and forces it to shrink.
But, we advise you to stay safe from hemorrhoids as much as possible. Prevention of any such behaviour would be the best thing to do. So, make sure you don’t take your phone or newspaper or any such item that keeps you inside the washroom for long. Just finish your business and get out. Stay healthy!
