4. Chewing gum
It’s not the chewing gum but the chewing action of the gum that signals to your body that you’re about to consume food. Hence, in preparation, it stimulates the release of gastric acid, which floods your stomach lining without the counteracting effect of any food. If you’re doing it much more frequently, it can lead to stomach ulcers. It’s better to go for chewing gum only after having a nice meal. And do opt only for a sugar free chewing gum.
5. Going to bed
Remember what our parents said? Never go to bed with an empty stomach. Low blood glucose level will hamper your sleep. They can also lead to superficial and troubled sleep where you awaken early. What’s worse is that insufficient sleep will increase the secretion of hunger hormones, making you eat more the following day. However, that doesn’t mean that you stuff yourself up with food. For a good night sleep, just drink a glass of warm milk and honey.
